LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Thousands of Adopt-A-Highway volunteers will be on the roads picking up trash starting next weekend.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says the second cleanup of this year will run from July 11 through the 19th, with one more to follow from September 26 to October 4th.
This is the 25th year for the program, and MDOT officials say volunteers collect about 70-thousand bags of trash every year.
In 2014, MDOT says adopt-A-highway cleanups generated a five-million dollar value for state taxpayers.
