HOLLAND (WHTC) – Bob Vande Vusse is now the 41st mayor in the city of Holland’s history. Vande Vusse, who has represented the city’s Fourth Ward for the past 24 years, took the oath of office prior to Wednesday’s City Council meeting. He says the city has a strong leadership team in place with its administrators and department heads. Vande Vusse replaces Kurt Dykstra, who on Wednesday formally began his duties as president of Trinity Christian College in suburban Chicago. With Vande Vusse moving into the mayor’s office, veteran First Ward Councilman Mike Trethewey was unanimously selected as mayor pro tem on Wednesday. Trethewey has served on the council since 1997.
