GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – Three persons from the Lakeshore are up for annual Governor’s Service Awards during this evening’s ceremony at the Fredrik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids. Lorraine Knuth, an 89-year-old Hopkins woman, vies for the George Romney Lifetime Achievement Award, while Jessica MacVane of Zeeland and Tom Hickman of Nunica are among the finalists for Mentor of the Year honors. A total of 40 persons and organizations are going for the eight awards that honor volunteerism in Michigan.
