SPRING LAKE TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 13-year-old Spring Lake bicyclist was injured after pedaling into a moving vehicle north of his hometown around 12 Noon on Friday. Deputies say that an unhelmeted Jack Lauinger was westbound on the North Bank Trail and had stopped for a stop sign before attempting to cross 144th Avenue north of Cleveland Street. The boy apparently didn’t see the southbound vehicle of 79-year-old Nancy Minor of Grand Haven approaching. Lauinger was taken to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in stable condition, while the buckled-up Minor was not hurt. An investigation continues.
