BIDSTON, UK (WHTC) – Reports from England indicate that an unnamed 16-year-old suburban Liverpool boy has been arrested in connection with “swatting” fake bomb threats. “Ransom the Thug” made online posts and calls to various schools, media companies, airports and airlines in the US between last September and this past April. Among the victims were school districts in Coopersville, Hudsonville and Allendale. The FBI and Titan detectives in the UK partnered in investigating the matter. Charges are pending.
