HOPKINS (WHTC) – An Allegan County man is dead after his SUV slammed head-on into a tanker truck Thursday near Hopkins. Michigan State Police at the Wayland post say the victim, whose name has not been released, was driving westbound on 134th Avenue near 26th Street when he apparently crossed the center line and slammed into the tanker just before 8 a.m. The tanker truck was empty, and its driver was not hurt. An investigation is underway.
