HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A frightening situation played out late Thursday night in Holland when the police were called to the home of a man and his family. Reports say that when the police showed up to the home on 17th Street between River and Pine Avenues, the man was threatening to harm himself. The man’s wife was able to escape safely but left their two children, ages one and two, in the house. Police were eventually able to talk the man into coming out of the house and he is now being treated at a local facility for a mental evaluation. The children were found safe and no injuries were reported. The names of the family have not been released.
