SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC) – The dispute over the future of the former Presbyterian Camp site off of Perryman Street in Saugatuck was the subject of special meetings this evening by both the Planning Commission and Council of that Lakeshore city. David Barker and Paulus Heule of Grand Rapids purchased the 130-acre property from the Chicago Presbytery Assembly last year for 10 million dollars and sought Planned Use Development approval to tap into municipal water for 13 proposed single-family residential condo units over nearly 33 acres. Such approval came tenatively by a unanimous vote, subject to a number of conditions that Dune Grass SA, LP must follow.
