JAMESTOWN TWP., MI (WHTC) – An eight-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle on a road south of Hudsonville. Witnesses told deputies that Austin Lotterman ran out from a yard and failed to look both ways before attempting to cross the two-lane Adams Street west of 40th Avenue around 5:30 PM on Monday evening. The 54-year-driver, physician’s assistant Todd Berends, was returning home to Holland from work and immediately administered first aid. The child was flown to DeVos Children’s Hospital in critical condition. The crash remains under investigation.
