GRANDVILLE, MI (WHTC) – The owner of a Grandville auto repair shop who refuses to serve openly gay customers is planning an event that will gain him more attention from anti-gay and pro-gay protesters alike.
Brian Klawiter had his 15 minutes of fame back in April when he publicly announced he would not be serving any openly gay people at Dieseltec, the auto-repair shop Klawiter owns in Grandville. Last week the Dieseltec owner announced on social media that he has rented the Jenison Center for the Arts to host a town hall-like meeting where topics such as the Constitution, the Bible, and education problems will be discussed.
The event will take place on Thursday, June 11th and already has some notable conservative attendees, such as Bradlee Dean (founder of a controversial youth ministry) and “Coach” David Daubenmire (host of a weekly conservative radio show). Jenison School District, which owns the venue where Klawiter’s event is taking place, stated in a mass parent email that the district does not support the views of any community group that uses its facilities.
