POLKTON TWP., MI (WHTC) – A farming accident has injured a 27-year-old Montcalm County man working at a site between Coopersville and Nunica on Tuesday afternoon.
Sheriff’s deputies say that Kenneth Clinger of Sidney was delivering liquid fertilizer to a farm off of Taft Street near 96th Avenue and was standing near the valve and hose of his company’s truck when a leak occurred, causing the substance to spray onto his torso and down to his legs. Company officials believe that a recirculating pump caused the 28% UAN solution to heat up and burning the victim.
Clinger was taken to Spectrum-Blodgett Hospital for treatment. The incident remains under investigation.
