MUSKEGON, MI (WHTC) – Muskegon lighthouse tours begin this weekend. Tomorrow the Michigan Lighthouse Conservancy will hold a ribbon cutting event to celebrate the start of tours in the lighthouse.
The tower tour is $4 for adults and $2 for kids and under. To climb the 48 foot tall lighthouse you must be three feet tall.
Admission fees will go towards restorations and the accessibility issues. If the tours are popular it will generate revenue to open another Muskegon Lighthouse.
The lighthouse will be open for tours from Memorial Day to Labor Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 12 to 4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesdays.
The lighthouse is located at Pere Marquette beach.
