HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -With over 500,000 people attending the Tulip Time Festival each year, it’s a given that visitors will want to try some authentic Dutch food. This year, however, marked a record profit for The Dutch Marktplaats food court, the Holland Sentinel reports.
In 2014, the gross total of sales was more than $26,000 and in 2015, the total was more than $31,000. Organizer Mary Jo Wiswedel is certain that because they added a credit card option to this year’s Marktplaats transactions, they were able to increase sales.
The Dutch Marktplaats includes authentic food such as pigs in a blanket, metworst, olibollen, and Dutch meatballs and is located in the Civic Center during Tulip Time.
