WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC) – The “Protector Monument” has been dedicated at the entrance to the Ottawa County Fillmore Street Administrative Building in West Olive. The three figures of a law enforcement officer flanked by two children has marble pillars on either side, inscribed with the names of policemen and deputies killed in the line of duty in the county, with the most recent being Walker Police Officer Trevor Slot, run down during a police chase nearly five years ago.
