ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – During today’s Allegan County Board meeting, Sheriff Blaine Koops submitted his annual departmental report, the first since the move to the new County Jail complex last year. Reported incidents were up nine percent to just over 12 thousand, with drunken driving and traffic crash cases remaining unchanged, and controlled substance incidents fell. The board also supported the state DNR’s effort to buy nearly 19 acres of vacant Holland BPW land next to Saugatuck Dunes State Park.
