WASHINGTON (WHTC) – A new report by the non-profit hospital watchdog Leapfrog Group, as analyzed by healthcare reform advocates Castlight Health, claimed that only eight hospitals in Michigan are meeting safe nursing practice standards. Four are in Grand Rapids, including all three of Spectrum Health’s facilities and Mercy St. Mary’s. Spectrum-Zeeland Community Hospital fully met the report’s standards in two of five categories, while Holland Hospital declined to participate in the survey conducted last June.
