PARK TWP., MI (WHTC) – The West Ottawa Board of Education holds a special, closed-door meeting this evening, reportedly dealing with suspended high school teacher and varsity wrestling Coach Matthew Powell. He was shelved by district officials in March when allegations surfaced of inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old female student in a parked vehicle in Allendale. Powell was bound over for trial on three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct last week and is currently free on bond.
