MUSKEGON, MI (WHTC) – A 42-year-old Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputy is facing misdemeanor drunken driving charges in the city of Muskegon. Police there say that Dennis Smith was pulled over early last Friday in the vicinity of West Muskegon Avenue and North Street, with a blood alcohol count over the “super” limit of .17. He is free on a thousand-dollar bond, but could face six months in jail if convicted. Undersheriff Steve Kempker told M-Live that Smith’s status was still active pending a departmental investigation.
