HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Visitation is this evening at Lakeshore Memorial Service for Charlie Campa, who died of smoke inhalation a month shy of his fifth birthday in a fire at the home of his grandfather on Holland’s North Side. The child was sleeping when the blaze broke out at the North Bellwood Court residence off of Beeline Drive near Riley Street around 1 AM yesterday, and the unnamed grandfather was injured trying to get back into the house to rescue Campa. Three other adults in the dwelling escaped safely. An 11 AM funeral is tomorrow morning at St. Francis de Sales Church in Holland. The fire remains under investigation.
