ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – Nearly five years in prison is the minimum for a 23-year-old Grand Haven woman who was sentenced in the deaths of a Holland couple last June. Ciara Byers pled guilty last month to an operating while intoxicated charge, admitting that she had been under the influence of marijuana. She was driving on M-40 near Babylon Road, swerved to her left to avoid rear-ending a turning vehicle ahead of her and slammed head-on into a Harley with Robert and Susan Kammaraad on board, killing them instantly.
