HOLLAND, MI ( WHTC) – This year’s Grand Marshals for the Kinderparade are 10-year-olds Keyan Hogan and Max Heerema.
The two have been friends since first grade when Max befriended Keyan who leads a medicially complex life, where a typical day includes 24 hour nursing care. She and her quadruplet sisters were born 13 weeks early. Max came up with the idea of the “Cans for Keyan” campaign which has raised over $16,000 to help with her medical bills.
Their friendship formed in the 1st grade and has flourished into an incredible bond and touching example of “kids helping kids.” Tulip Time says that’s why the two are the perfect pair to serve as grand Marshals for the Kinderparade.
