ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – Allegan County Circuit Court Judge Margaret Bakker ruled that 16-year-old Joshua Keyzer is mentally competent to stand trial on felony charges stemming from the stabbing death of his 21-year-old cousin Kassandra and the wounding of his 67-year-old grandmother Sharon at the older woman’s home near Wayland last June. The teen underwent two separate exams, and the county Prosecutor’s Office reportedly has reached a plea deal with Keyzer, who will return to court on May 11.
