ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) – Before tonight’s Zeeland City Council meeting, members will go behind closed doors to discuss the latest in the ongoing legal battle over the tax assessment Consumers Energy is contesting on its natural gas-fueled power plant off of Fairview Avenue. During the meeting, council will consider a 90 thousand-dollar offer to purchase the former Z-C-D-C site off of Washington Avenue and Centennial Street, a vacant lot that the city has owned for more than two years with no definitive plans so far.
