HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – During today’s meeting, the Holland BPW Board was expected to approve a 480 thousand-dollar transfer from the contingency fund to purchase 16 hundred new LED street lights that would replace 150-watt high pressure sodium lights currently illuminating Holland city streets. There is some urgency to make the change, which utility officials say will pay for itself in less than six years, as it will help in Holland’s bid in the five million-dollar Georgetown Energy Prize competition.
