GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – It was not immediately known if a public restroom in Grand Haven’s Chinook Pier will be repaired in time for the upcoming tourist season. A fire late last night to the structure off of North Harbor Drive caused “extensive damage,” according to Grand Haven Public Safety. Fishermen spotted flames and smoke coming from the closed restroom’s roof near the pier’s fish-cleaning station. No injuries were reported. No cause was determined, but investigators saw no indication of any foul play in the matter.
