ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) – As the man credited with giving Zeeland High School its Chix nickname is laid to rest, the district’s most noted athletic alum is coming back to help the Zeeland Education Foundation. Whitey Wyngarden passed away last Friday at age 97; his funeral is tomorrow at 11 AM in Second Reformed Church. Meanwhile, long-time major league pitcher and current MLB Network broadcaster Jim Kaat will be the featured speaker at the 2015 Foul Play Dinner on October 27th at Yacht Basin Marina.
