Zeeland, MI (WHTC) – Parking in any downtown area can be challenging, especially with the tourism that comes during the warmer months. Residents are particularly worried about their lack of parking in the downtown Zeeland area this summer due to the new restaurants that are going to open, one of which is a brewpub. The increased energy flow that is expected to come to the downtown area is making local citizens nervous that they may have no place to park. According to the Holland Sentinel, a parking study was done with the 472 public parking spaces that are leased to the city. The parking study results will be presented to the city council and the planning commission in approximately one month. It will give city officials a good idea on what they can expect to happen when the tourism season begins.
