HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Crews from Holland Public Safety and the Hamilton Fire Department responded to a Saturday afternoon house fire off of 27th Street between Lawndale and Pine Avenues. It took them five minutes to respond, finding heavy smoke throughout the structure with flames coming out of the back of the home. Less than a half hour later, the blaze was brought under control, with no injuries suffered by residents or by crew members. An initial investigation indicated that the fire started in a bedroom, but no exact cause was immediately determined. A damage estimate was pending, with direct flame damage limited to the bedroom where it had started and to the kitchen.
