OSCEOLA COUNTY, MI (WHTC) – Michigan State Police have turned over its investigation report into the deaths of Gary Volkers and his daughter Stacey Grotenhuis to the Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office.
The body of the 59 year old Volkers, was discovered in Osceola County on October 5th.
He died of a gunshot wound. His daughter was found dead later that same day at her father’s Crystal Waters Condominium’s residence. A laceration to the neck and trauma to the head was the cause of her death.
There are two pending cases adding to the complication of the deaths. One is a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Grotenhuis’ mother Karen Jarrell against Volkers’ estate and the other is on who has claim to that estate.
The Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office said it will be the middle of next week until the full 125 page report can be reviewed and a final determination made on how the two deaths are linked.
