HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – An unnamed teen home sick from school and a family dog were able to escape unharmed from a house fire off of South Shore Drive near Goldenrod Avenue on Holland’s South Side around 9 AM this morning. It took Holland Public Safety about an hour and a half to control the blaze in the kitchen area and to complete salvage efforts. Investigators believe that the fire had started in the dishwasher, was accidental in nature, and didn’t make an initial damage estimate.
