Holland Marine Confirmed as Among Those Killed in Military Chopper Crash

EGLIN AFB, FL (WHTC) – The US Marine Corps confirmed that 27-year-old Staff Sergeant Andrew Seif of Holland Township was among 11 Armed Forces members killed when a Black Hawk helicopter crashed in the Gulf of Mexico off of the Florida panhandle this past Tuesday evening. The critical skills operator with the 2^nd Marine Special Operations Battalion was part of a crew conducting training exercises. Sergeant Seif, a 2006 West Ottawa High graduate, was just awarded a Silver Star for aiding a fellow Marine during fighting in Afghanistan two years ago. Funeral arrangements are pending.
