DOOR TWP, MI (WHTC) – The Michigan Office of Children’s Ombudsman is investigating the claims that the Department of Health and Human Services didn’t follow up on reports of abuse before a triple murder in Allegan County.
Chief investigator Tobin Mills says Child Protective Services was involved at the home of Emma mcComber and Corey LaValley Jr. in the past two years. Miller says they are looking for evidence of violations by CPS workes in rthe case.
The two children were shot and killed along with their Mother, Debra Sheppard, before their mobile home in Door Township was set on fire this week.
Sheppard’s ex-boyfriend, Corey LaValley, is charged with murder and arson in the case.
