EGLIN AFB, FLORIDA (WHTC) – The family of Staff Sergeant Andrew Seif is waiting to hear from the Pentagon to find out if he was on a Black Hawk helicopter that crashed in Florida.
Sources say he may have been among the eleven service members on the helicopter. A West Ottawa High School grad, Sgt. Seif was recently awarded the Silver Star for risking his life to save a wounded soldier while under heavy fire in Afghanistan.
The White House has sent its condolences to the families and promise a comprehensive investagation of the crash.
