ZEELAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 53-year-old Byron Center woman suffered minor injuries after her car collided with a tanker truck east of Zeeland this morning. Deputies say that Christie Hassevoort, before she was taken to Spectrum-Zeeland Community Hospital for treatment, claimed that heavy fog prevented her from seeing a stop sign on Perry Street at 64th Avenue and hitting the tanker, causing it to tip over and spill about 50 gallons of diesel fuel. The trucker, 31-year-old Brian Gruppen of Zeeland, wasn’t hurt.
