HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Holland Community Aquatic Center will take over Bouws Pool management in a summer trial. Bouws pool could have more programs, swim lessons and hours this year under this new agreeement. Holland Community Aquatic Center will manage the day to day operations and staff but the city parks and recreation department would still maintain the grounds and pool.
The season long pilot program would cost the city about $46,000 in a management contract. Entrance fees would stay the same, and the aquatic center would seek out grants and donations to keep the children’s entrance free. Proposed programming also includes free swim lessons for up to 100 income-qualified students.
