HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – The Lakeshore Housing Alliance’s annual Point in Time snapshot count in Ottawa County showed that there were 266 total homeless persons on January 28th, evenly split between those in families with children and those without. Seven of those were unsheltered, including a 14-year-old. This number is down from 387 taken in the PIT survey of 2014. The survey is meant to spotlight the plight of the homeless, and LHA officials are hesitant to make any long-term conclusions based on these results.
