ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – The Allegan County Health Department has sounded the “all clear” after the third and final test done on an unnamed 15-month-old girl for Measles came back negative. Department staffers initially diagnosed the unvaccinated child last week as “clinically” having the highly-contagious disease which has been spotted in 18 states this winter, including Michigan. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta concluded that a throat swab of the toddler showed no signs of Measels.
