EAST LANSING, MI (WHTC) – A Jenison district teacher received the state Lottery’s weekly Excellence in Education award. Michelle U’Ren of Pinewood Elementary School was honored for setting high expectations in her fifth-grade classes and inspiring her students to meet those standards. She received a plaque, a 500-dollar cash prize and a 500-dollar grant for her classroom in a ceremony last week at the Breslin Center with MSU Basketball Coach Tom Izzo, who is teaming with the Lottery in this program.
