-HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) The plans Zeeland Public Schools has for the $53.5 million bond includes a new security system and a lock down system. While buildings already have security cameras in place, some would be added inside and out. A key card system would be installed as well to limit access to certain parts of the building. Four of Zeelands buildings are outfitted with safe and secure entryways but 7 are not, including Zeeland East High.
The bond will raise property taxes in the Zeeland School District and it will be asking for voter approval Tuesday February 24th.
