SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC) – Dune Ridge LLC SA has submitted to the Saugatuck Planning Commission a proposal to develop the former Presbyterian Camp site into a planned unit development of 14 luxury condominium sites. Under the nearly 30-acre plan, the homes would be built closer together than traditional single-family communities, and there would be a large common-uses area available for all residents. Developer David Barker of Grand Rapids bought the land for 10 million dollars from the Presbytery of Chicago, whose leaders felt compelled to sell in order to pay legal fees stemming from a lawsuit. No date for when the Planning Commission will review the proposal was initially set.
