MARTIN, MI (WHTC) – A lengthy bridge renovation project was scheduled to begin today, as M-DOT contracted crews will replace the span that carries 116th Avenue – M-222 – over US-131 west of Martin. There will be posted detours directing traffic several miles southbound to M-89, and there will also be nighttime lane closures on the freeway. Department officials say that the estimated completion of the project is July 9th, but the new bridge could be in place and ready for traffic as early as mid-June.
