HOLLAND (WHTC) – City officials in Holland are gearing up for a major reconstruction project on Central Avenue that will start later this spring. It’s a project that has been on the city’s wish list for several years. Plans call for rebuilding Central from Third Street, near the WHTC studios and the Holland Area Wastewater Treatment Plant, to State Street. City Manager Ryan Cotton says part of the plan will include expanding the downtown snowmelt system. New snowmelt transmission mains would be installed along Central between Eighth Street and 13th Street. Officials have received bids for the reconstruction work and the City Council will review them at a study session next Wednesday.
