ZEELAND (WHTC) – One man is hospitalized after his tow truck collided with a semi-truck late Monday morning in Zeeland. Ottawa County dispatchers say the crash occurred about 11:30 at State Street and Riley Street, on the north edge of the city limits. Zeeland Police Chief Bill Olney says while the investigation into the crash is ongoing, it appears the tow-truck driver struck the semi as the semi attempted to turn left from westbound Riley to southbound State. The crash caused a diesel fuel spill that closed the intersection until about 1:30 p.m. The tow-truck driver was taken to Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital with undisclosed injuries. The semi driver was not hurt. Names of the drivers were not available.
