LANSING, MI (WHTC) – What was evident across Michigan was apparently seen along the Lakeshore last month.
That’s the conclusion from December’s seasonally unadjusted unemployment rates, as released by the state Department of Technology, Management and Budget. Joblessness in Ottawa County last month stood at 3.6 percent, a tenth of a percentage point below November, and compares favorably with a nearly six percent mark for the same time last year. In Allegan County, the level rose from four percent even in November to 4.3 percent last month; a year ago, the mark was at 6.7 percent.
State officials say that annual unemployment rates in most Michigan labor markets were similar to pre-recession levels.
