HOLLAND (WHTC) – Hope College forward Maura McAfee has been named MIAA women’s basketball Player of the Week. The junior from Midland averaged 22 points and 15.5 boards a game last week as the Flying Dutch defeated Trine and Adrian. She scored a season high 26 points and pulled down a career high 16 rebounds in the Saturday night win over the Bulldogs. In other Hope sports news, sophomore Molly Meyer has been named MIAA women’s swimming and diving Athlete of the Week after sweeping both backstroke events and winning the 100 butterfly in Saturday’s dual meet at Calvin.
