ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) – For the second time in three years, Zeeland city officials have been forced to cancel its annual Wintervention festival. The fifth such celebration of the season was slated to run tomorrow, and yesterday’s postponement came a week after a press release claimed “new additions and changes to the structure that (would) allow the event to go on.” Weather conditions statewide apparently forced Zeeland and other cities to cancel a snowman-making competition that was the centerpiece of this event. Local officials say that they are “trying to reschedule” Wintervention for later this winter, but in a similar weather situation in 2013, the event was never rescheduled.
