GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – A 22-year-old Muskegon man is in critical condition and an 18-year-old was also hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash on the Grand Haven drawbridge last night. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Wildfong, Brian Jones was driving northbound on US-31 just after 10 PM when he lost control of his car as he approached the span. The vehicle rolled over several times before coming to rest, blocking two lanes of the highway. His passenger claimed that they had been cut off by a truck, but other witnesses said that the car was going at a high rate of speed. Jones was taken to Hackley Hospital for treatment, while the passenger, Mikayla Cross, was initially listed in stable condition at an unnamed medical facility. The crash remains under investigation.
