ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – The Allegan County Board yesterday tabled a proposal for joining the Great Lakes Ag-Tech Business Incubator introduced by Ottawa County officials last month. Concerns presented by the county’s Economic Development Commission director about the costs-to-benefits relationship convinced the board to study the matter further. Allegan County would have been committed to allocating 28 thousand dollars annually to join the incubator’s board. The incubator provides specialized help for start-up companies looking to provide innovations for agricultural industry growth, and organizers are hoping to eventually take this statewide.
