ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – The “person of interest” wanted for questioning in the death of Sara Lee Knight at her Ganges Township home has now become a fugitive from justice.
An arrest warrant was issued yesterday for Harold “Butch” Knight, accusing the 66-year-old man of murdering his 48-year-old wife. Sara Knight may have been dead from one to three days before her body was found on Tuesday. Investigators reportedly say that there were signs that the victim had been strangled and believe that the suspect was already in southeast Michigan when he called Allegan County dispatchers to say that he was “leaving the country.” Neighbors claim that the couple had moved into the area 18 months ago from Maine.
Harold Knight is believed to be driving his wife’s 2009 Suburu Forester SUV with Michigan plate GM74A. Anyone with any information as to his whereabouts is asked to call the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department.
