Two Hurt in Crash South of Coopersville

POLKTON TWP., MI (WHTC) – Apparent impatience by a 30-year-old Allendale woman led to her and a passenger spending yesterday afternoon on hospital beds. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Kevin Allman, April McKenney was driving west on Leonard Street near 88^th Avenue south of Coopersville when she attempted to pass two slower vehicles ahead of her as Theron Stone was driving east. An unavoidable head-on collision ensued. McKenney and 29-year-old Eric Cody of Battle Creek were taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment while Stone, a 37-year-old Spring Lake woman, wasn’t hurt. McKinney was cited for improper passing and for driving on a suspended license.
